General Overview

Tailgating in New Orleans is replaced by the many fine establishments in the nearby district. You won't be sorry by joining fellow fans at any one of the thousands of bars, restaurants, etc.

But if you are hardcore tailgater than you are covered too. Can someone say tailgate in a parking garage. You can do that or find yourself a cozy little spot.

Parking Information

For Saints games we park off of S. Rampart and Poydras where there are several places to set up tents and RVs. There is also a parking garage across the street for others in your group that don't need to set up additional tents.
We pay $30 for parking but It could be higher special events (i.e. when Sugarbowl was hosted).

Tailgating Policies

No real open container law to fret about just don't walk with glass or bottles on the street.

Tailgate Activity That Requires Special Permits
If a tailgate is acting in a business capacity, it must have a special event permit.

The problem, confusion about what counts as a business activity.

The rule: if a business transaction takes place, if money changes hands, even if it’s to a private caterer, the tailgate must have a special event permit.

"It's basically when you sell to the general public or hire someone to cater for you in a commercial capacity that we want those guys to be licensed," says Romy Samuel, the city’s revenue collector.

A permit costs between $50 and $750 depending on the scope of the party

Stadium Information

Whoever designed the Superdome sure knew how to build a football stadium; at 34 years old, it remains a one-of-a-kind, world-class facility.

Superdome Facelift
In April 2009, the Saints and the State of Louisiana reached an agreement to keep the franchise at the Superdome through 2025. The agreement includes upgrading the Superdome and resurrecting an abandoned section of the Central Business District with a refurbished office tower and a new sports entertainment district. Improvements to the Superdome include widening plaza level concourses, adding concession stands, reconfiguring the lower bowl that adds 3,100 seats, adding 300-level luxury suites, a new retail store, a club lounge and upgraded restaurants. The upgrades are expected to be complete during the 2010 and 2011.

Food and Drink

There is Allegros bar there as well as DJ setup. Depending on what you like to eat there are several great places, too hard to name them all.

Mothers is great place for po-boys
Dragos is one of my favorites foor the chargrilled oysters

Doesn't matter how touristy it sounds but Pat O's is a must but pretty much just go with the flow anywhere in the quarter.

Lodging

Nice Hilton off of Baronne and Gravier streets.
