Our Pitch
Tailgate Wiki is a web based resource created to provide tailgaters, sports fans and concert goers the most complete information regarding day of the event activities. Most everyone with access to the internet has at least heard of if not visited Wikipedia. Based on the same wiki format that is openly editable by registered and non-registered users, all the information contained herein has been submitted by real sports fans and tailgaters. The submissions and contributions are then compiled and formatted to allow for easy navigation for those unfamiliar with a particular team, college or event venue. Think of Tailgate Wiki like Wikipedia for all topics tailgating and game day related.
Our Mission
The goal of Tailgate Wiki is to supply sports fans and event goers with detailed information on transportation, parking regulations, traditions, points of interest and any other pertinent facts a home or visiting event attendee would want to learn before arriving. The power of Tailgate Wiki comes from the information provided by those in the know. The fans that attend games regularly and tailgate frequently at a particular location have a wealth of information and this is the place they share their insider knowledge.
Get Involved and Contribute
Nobody knows a sports stadium or an event venue better than those who regularly tailgate and attend events there. That is why Tailgate Wiki requests contributions from those who have attended events in those locations. Just like Wikipedia, Tailgate Wiki encourages anyone to add information or edit information for a particular team, race track or event venue. Many event attendees know the secrets to which parking lots offer the best amenities for the lowest prices, whether the stadium in question only allows propane grills and which stadium gate opens up 15 minutes earlier than the rest of them. It is this insider information that Tailgate Wiki seeks so as to benefit the entire tailgating community. By choosing to edit a particular page, the users themselves are benefiting the entire tailgating community as a whole. Please refer to our Rules page to better understand editing and adding information to Tailgate Wiki.
Advertising and Sponsorships
Tailgate Wiki will remain a free resource for anyone with internet access. This is possible through the sale of advertising, sponsorships and even donations. To learn more about our advertising and sponsorship availability and pricing, please visit our advertising informational page HERE.
Tailgate Team Administrators
Tailgate Wiki wants to provide the most accurate and pertinent information about tailgating and the game day experience. Because anyone can edit the information contained herein, page and team administrators will act as “watchdogs” to ensure cyber vandalism does not occur. Tailgate Wiki Administrators will be alerted when pages are edited and updated. It is their responsibility to ensure the newly added information is correct and pertinent to their particular page. Are you interested in taking an active role in your team’s or venue’s tailgate page? We are looking for the select dedicated fans that want to help ensure page accuracy. Membership does have its privileges, but please serious inquires only. Click Here to learn more.
